Venease: the Vein Finding Device project explored how technology could improve vein visualization during pediatric medical procedures. Finding veins in young children can be challenging and often results in multiple needle insertion attempts, increasing stress for both patients and healthcare professionals. The project began with research into clinical workflows, user needs, and existing approaches to vein detection within healthcare settings. Insights from the research highlighted the importance of accuracy, ease of use, portability, and integration into existing medical practices. The concept development process focused on creating a solution that could assist healthcare professionals while reducing anxiety and discomfort for children. Through iterative prototyping and evaluation, the project explored ways to improve procedural efficiency without disrupting clinical workflows. The outcome demonstrates how thoughtful product design can enhance both healthcare delivery and patient experience, particularly in sensitive pediatric care environments.
