This project investigated the impact of industrial decarbonization on factory workers and explored pathways for creating equitable livelihood transitions. As industries move toward low-carbon production systems, workers often face uncertainty around employment, skills, and future opportunities. Through ecosystem research, systems mapping, and stakeholder engagement, I examined the interconnected challenges influencing workforce adaptation during this transition. The research considered economic, social, institutional, and educational factors that shape workers' ability to navigate changing industrial landscapes. Rather than focusing solely on job replacement, the project explored broader questions of resilience, capability building, and long-term sustainability. The outcome was a strategic framework that identified opportunities for skill development, knowledge access, and ecosystem support. The project demonstrates how design can contribute to climate transitions by ensuring that technological and environmental progress remains centered on people and their futures.
